YNW believes in an integral approach to education involving head, heart and hands. and This is with the belief that many of the world's problems stem from an atomistic worldview in society and in our schools that separates young people from individual purpose and meaning, a sense of community and civic engagement locally and globally, as well as respect and care for the whole community of life.
Our integral philosophy is realized through programs that promote awareness, caring and action. Multicultural education expands the world of a young person by introducing them to the history, geography, culture, needs and beauty of other peoples both different from and similar to themselves. We strengthen connection and compassion by linking youth through schools and other organizations in joint study and projects. All our projects incorporate an action component in the form of service either to the local or global community
